Sothport Carrara Netball Carnival 1st November 2009
Southport Carrara Netball Carnival
Held on November 1st 2009 to raise money for Jessica Dunne, the club were overwhelmed by the response, when 650 people were involved with the carnival.
$11,500 was raised, and Andrea Morris of the Southport Carrara Netball Club said everyone involved was overwhelmed with the response. The club has never had a reaction to a fundraising event like this before.
Everyone that came along had a great day, and the whole day had a festive feel to it. Everyone involved has to be commended on their fun attitude to the day.
Although the skies were grey, nothing could wipe the smiles off everyones faces as they played game after game of netball. Some ladies hadn't played netball for 25 years, but with such a great cause calling, they couldn't resist pulling out their skirts and getting involved.
From the people that offered to help with the umpiring, to the people working behind the scenes, at the front counter, scorers, players, people in the cafe and of course all the sponsors that gave so generously, all helped towards making the day such a success, and we say a huge thank you to you all.
